Some of us might have already heard a lot about testosterone and and how it relates to masculinity. For most, the acquaintance with the word may have started as early as grade school Biology when lessons focus on puberty. Nevertheless, we might not have had as much appreciation for what it is and what it does until we began reaching adulthood. We may for instance already know that testosterone is the hormone that determines who becomes men and who becomes women. But what other aspects of the human condition depend on this hormone? Does the importance or function of testosterone stop upon reaching puberty? And why are testosterone-related drugs, like anabolic steroids or Daspartic acid supplements, ever so popular, if not contentious?
